as soon as he said "we divided the germans in half[sic] ... we divided the vietnamese.." i lost interest. comparing apples and oranges, east germany had a much smaller population, did not have the industrial output of the west and did not have access to large western markets to export ts goods. i think i'll stick with geopolitical theory over this argument.
