Transparency International, "the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption," has released its latest
Global Corruption Report. Included is a ranking of countries based on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI); the index uses surveys of business people and assessments by country analysts. Here are the most corrupt countries:
- Somalia
- Myanmar
- Iraq
- Haiti
- Uzbekistan
- Tonga
- Sudan
- Chad
- Afganistan
- Laos
- Guinea
- Equatorial Guinea
- Congo, Democratic Republic
The United States is ranked as the 20th least corrupt country (out of 180 countries ranked)
